Craft supplies and a cup of coffee on a sunny kitchen table

Hi, I'm Amy. I'm a mom, a maker, and the person behind this site.

Amy Creates started at my kitchen table. Literally. I was trying to keep my kids busy one rainy afternoon with whatever I could find in the junk drawer, and the results were messy, imperfect, and genuinely fun. I took a photo, texted it to a friend, and she asked me to send her the instructions. That was the moment I realized other parents wanted this stuff too.

I am not a professional crafter. I do not have a design background or a studio full of supplies. What I have is a kitchen table, a drawer full of markers and glue sticks, and kids who want to make things. That is enough. It has always been enough.

This site is where I share what works for us. Simple crafts that use materials you probably already have. Activities that do not require a lot of prep or cleanup. Seasonal ideas that match whatever the weather is doing outside. And honest notes about what actually held the kids' attention versus what ended up abandoned after five minutes.

I believe that creativity does not need to be expensive, complicated, or photogenic. Some of the best projects we have done looked terrible and made a huge mess. The kids still talk about them. That is the kind of success I care about.

When we are not making things at home, we are out exploring. Local parks, community events, trails, and whatever our town has going on that week. I think the best family life has room for both: the quiet crafting afternoons and the get-out-of-the-house adventures. They feed each other in ways I did not expect when I started.

Thanks for being here. I hope you find something on this site that makes your next afternoon a little easier, a little more creative, or at least a little less boring. That is all I am going for.
